Hey guys! Just back from a weekend getaway at Clarksburg State Park (only 3 hours west of Boston) 🚗. Here is my honest breakdown:
-
The Campsite ⛺: We stayed at Site 32! Surrounded by thick hardwood trees, it feels super private and safe. Tip: It’s a bit of a walk to the restrooms, but super close to the water spigot. The ground is very spacious—perfect for pitching a roomy family tent without feeling cramped.
-
Amenities 🚿: Very family-friendly! They have clean, flush toilets and hot showers (a lifesaver). Rates are $17/night for MA residents / $54 for non-residents. 💵
-
What to do 🛶:
-
Mausert's Pond: Right next to the camp. Perfect for kayaking and fishing. Wake up early to catch the stunning morning mist! ✨
-
Mount Greylock: Super close by. Drive up to the summit for an unforgettable sunset ⛰️🌅.
-
Stargazing: The sky is so dark you can see the Milky Way! 🌌 (I forgot my tripod, so I had to shoot handheld on my phone—huge regret! Bring a camera! 📸)
-
🚨 Bear Warning 🐻: This is black bear territory! Food storage is a must. Lock all food, trash, and scented toiletries inside your car or bear lockers before sleep. Don't leave anything in your tent!
